چکیده

One-dimensional scattering by a target with two internal degrees of freedom is investigated. The damping of resonance peaks and the associated appearance of the fluctuating background in the quantum inelastic scattering amplitudes are found. Examination of the analog classical system reveals a disorderly reaction function, which is then related to the quantum amplitude through a semiclassical argument. Typeset using REVTEX 1

Kalman filter and Neural Network methods for detecting irregular variations of TEC around the time of powerful Mexico (Mw=8.2) earthquake of September 08, 2017

In 98 km SW of Tres Picos in Mexico (15.022°N, 93.899°W, 47.40 km depth) a powerful earthquake of Mw=8.2 took place at 04:49:19 UTC (LT=UTC-05:00) on September 8, 2017. In this study, using three standard, classical and intelligent methods including median, Kalman filter, and Neural Network, respectively, the GPS Total Electron Content (TEC) measurements of three months were surveyed to detect ...

Chaos, Dissipation and Quantal Brownian Motion

— Quantum dissipation, the theory of energy spreading and quantal Brownian motion are considered. In the first part of these lecture-notes we discuss the classical theory of a particle that interacts with chaotic degrees of freedom: • The Sudden and the Adiabatic approximations; • The route to stochastic behavior; • The fluctuation-dissipation relation; • And the application to the ‘piston’ exa...

Periodic Orbits, Breaktime and Localization

The main goal of the present paper is to convince that it is feasible to construct a ‘periodic orbit theory’ of localization by extending the idea of classical action correlations. This possibility had been questioned by many researchers in the field of ‘Quantum Chaos’. Starting from the semiclassical trace formula, we formulate a quantal-classical duality relation that connects the spectral pr...

The effects of classical resonance islands in time-dependent quantum mechanics

We investigate the effect of the main classical resonance island on the quantal ionization probabilities for an excited one-dimensional hydrogen atom perturbed by a near resonant, periodic electric field. The classical and quantal ionization probabilities produced by a periodic electric field near the (1:1)-resonance show similarities and also remarkable differences; specifically both probabili...

Study of Love Waves in a Clamped Viscoelastic Medium with Irregular Boundaries

A mathematical model is presented to investigate the effects of sandiness, irregular boundary interfaces, heterogeneity and viscoelasticity on the phase velocity of Love waves. Geometry of the problem is consisting of an initially stressed viscoelastic layer with corrugated irregular boundaries, which is sandwiched between heterogeneous orthotropic semi-infinite half-space with initial stress a...
